Meet Mary Anne
IBCLC Lactation Consultant | RN | Private In-Home & Virtual Breastfeeding Support in Roxborough Park, Littleton, Denver & Surrounding Areas
I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and registered nurse (RN) with over 30 years experience in maternal child care (specialty NICU) and pediatrics. Through The Art of Lactation, I provide discreet, high-touch lactation care for families seeking expert, personalized breastfeeding, pumping, and newborn feeding support.
I serve families in Roxborough Park, Littleton, Denver, Highlands Ranch, Lakewood, Golden, and surrounding Colorado communities, offering both in-home lactation consultations and virtual support designed to meet you where you are.
Over the course of my career, I have guided hundreds of mother-baby couplets in establishing effective breastfeeding, improving milk supply, and seamlessly integrating pumping and bottle feeding. My background as an inpatient IBCLC and clinical educator allows me to deliver care that is both medically grounded and thoughtfully individualized.
My approach is refined, supportive, and deeply respectful of each family's goals. As a mother of two, my own experience with breastfeeding, pumping, and formula supplementation informs the way I care for my clients ~ with nuance, flexibility, and without judgement.
Now based in Colorado, I founded The Art of Lactation to offer an elevated standard of care ~ one that blends clinical expertise with a calm, personalized experience. Every consultation is tailored to provide clarity, confidence, and sustainable feeding solutions designed specifically for you and your baby, with care that extends beyond a single visit to support your family's feeding journey from pregnancy through the months ahead.

The Art of Lactation is committed to providing every family with superior lactation and infant feeding support that is nurturing, judgement-free, and evidence-based. Empowering parents with knowledge and skills, our goal is to help families tailor breastmilk solutions to meet their unique, infant feeding goals.

Passionate about support
Breastfeeding Is a Team Sport
For most of human history, new mothers were surrounded by experienced women who shared practical knowledge, offered reassurance, and helped solve feeding challenges as they arose. Today, many families leave the hospital with a baby, a breast pump, and the expectation that they'll simply figure it out on their own.
Modern parenthood deserves modern support.
~ Over 75% of parents experience breastfeeding pain within their first 2 weeks postpartum (CDC & FDA). This unnecessary pain and discomfort leads to many parents abandoning their breast milk goals and turning to feeding routines that don't align with their values or desires.
~ Nearly 86% of U.S. babies receive some breast milk, yet only about 28% are exclusively fed breast milk through their first six months, despite the recommended goal.
~ Thousands of parents now rely on breast pumps, yet many receive little or no instruction on flange fitting, milk expression, pump settings, pumping schedules, maintaining milk supply or optimal bra fittings.
~ For today's families, returning to work is often an expected part of the postpartum journey. Yet even with legal protections in place, pumping at work remains more tolerated than truly supported.
You don't have to navigate breastfeeding or pumping alone. Whether you're nursing, exclusively pumping, combination feeding, returning to work, or feeding a baby after a NICU stay, expert lactation support can transform uncertainty into confidence ~ and make your feeding journey feel less overwhelming and far more joyful.
Every family deserves knowledgeable support, compassionate care, and the confidence that comes from never having to figure it out alone.
